Challenge with Accounting pre Westside Motivation Ltd and XeroPrior to meeting up with Westside Motivation Ltd, we were looking around for a suitable accounting system to run both Show Pony and 96degrees. Having two businesses that were internet based and having no internal accounting or book keeping skills within either company, the challenge was to find a system that was easy to use, preferably web based and have low operational overheads in terms of time and cost. Additionally, the system had to be flexible enough to manage the finances on a day to day level for both a services (96degrees) and product based company (Show Pony).
The solution that the software and Westside Motivation Ltd providedIt was evident early on that Xero was going to fit the bill pretty well. It met all of our requirements. We especially liked the fact that it was web based and had an excellent user interface. The next hurdle was to find a supplier that was able to setup the system and provide training. Annie and WSM were tracked down via the Xero website. Immediately it was clear that WSM was the right company for the job. Having the right mix of personality and skills was important. WSM was down to earth, easy to deal with and could offer our businesses the services that we required. The initial setup of Xero was done by WSM and then training was provided. Additionally, Annie helped us bring the two companies up to date with all previous transactions so that we were now in a position to take over the day to day running of the accounting system ourselves. Excellent. The end result and how we feel about the whole process6 months down the track, and the Xero product has lived up to our expectations. With an easy implementation and excellent training by WSM, the dreaded accounting and book keeping elements of the business haven’t turned out to be the three headed monster we expected them to be. One great feature that has come with Xero has been the ability to download financial transactions from our bank accounts automatically. This represents a huge time saving for the business which means we have more time available to push the business forward. It’s a real feature for the product which translates into real world business savings. We still need assistance from WSM from time to time, that’s normal, but we know that we are using a truly world class product and have the support available to us through Annie and WSM as and when needed. |
